Customer Service Training for Consular Staff

Embassy Helsinki Consular staff recently visited the customer Contact Center of Tallink Silja, the nation's largest ferry operator, for a collaborative discussion on customer service trends in Finland. Tallink Silja staff briefed Consular staff on ways in which they provide superior customer service for the company's nearly 2,500 daily customer inquiries. Consular staff were able to glean new methods from Tallink Silja staff in how to monitor and assess the levels of customer service that the Section provides to its visa customers. Additionally, Consular management gained new insight into how to provide front line Consular staff with enhanced levels of feedback on their communications skills pertaining to interaction with the Embassy's visa customers.
