American Resource Center

Online Databases

The following databases are available at the American Resource Center in 2009. The databases are accessible only by library staff, who can be contacted by e-mail: arc@usembassy.fi, or telephone (09) 191 24048.

  • CQ Researcher Online: Published 44 times a year, the single-themed CQ Researcher report offers in-depth, non-biased coverage of political and social issues, with regular reports on topics in health, international affairs, education, the environment, technology and the U.S. economy
  • Factiva.com provides access to over 6,000 full text periodicals as well as major news sources such as Reuters wires and the Wall Street Journal.
  • Federal News Service provides transcripts to testimony, briefings, press conferences and congressional hearings with questions and answers. FNS also produces a daybook which details significant events in Washington as well as cabinet officer schedules.
  • Lexis/Nexis: A full text database of current and historic federal legislation, bill tracking, bill texts, state legislation, case law, law reviews and over 6,000 full text news sources and periodicals including the New York Times, Washington Post and AP wires.
  • ProQuest: A database of over 4,000 indexed titles and over 2,000 full text journals with images.
