New York State Governor Pataki Visits Finland
Embassy Helsinki welcomed New York State Governor George Pataki on Monday, Sept. 26. Governor Pataki visited Finland as part of a round-the-world trip including a trade mission to China. He discussed his impressions of the Chinese economy, energy development challenges in America, and crisis management, among other issues, with Finnish business leaders in a lunch at the Embassy. The Governor also met with Embassy staff, toured Helsinki, and met with senior Finnish political figures. He thanked Finnish companies for their business presence in New York City, and praised the image of the Helsinki Accords, saying those accords represent the world commitment to the human rights of each person.
