U.S. Poet Charles Bernstein Attends the Turku Book Fair and Talks to Students in Helsinki

Charles Bernstein, Professor of English at the University of Pennsylvania and a well-known U.S. poet/ theorist of the language poetry, attended the Turku Book Fair on the release of the Finnish translation of his poems and essays from 1978-2006. In addition to public poetry reading events at cafeterias both in Turku and in Helsinki, Bernstein met with Finnish poets, writers and intellectuals. He also gave a lecture to a full house of students of comparative literature and aesthetics at the University of Helsinki, focusing on the theme, The Task of Poetics, the Fate of Innovation, and the Aesthetics of Criticism.
