Ambassador Earle I. Mack Hosts His Farewell Reception
Ambassador Earle I. Mack and Mrs. Carol Mack hosted their farewell reception on October 11. Speaking to the diplomatic corps, representatives from the Finnish Government, and friends he stated that ‘It has been an honor to serve the United States here in Finland as ambassador this past year and one-half… Finland is a country with a vibrant economy, a government that works, and a society that takes care of its own. Finland may be a small country in population, but it shows that one does not need to be large in numbers to play a large role in world affairs. It is a privilege for any diplomat to serve in this country, and it certainly has been for me.’ Ambassador Mack will depart Finland on October 20.
