Economic Officer Glenn Lewis Visits Itäkeskus High School

On Halloween, October 31st, Economic Officer Glenn Lewis spoke on the somewhat scary topic of climate change at Itäkeskus High School in Helsinki. Assuring students their action have an influence on climate change, Mr. Lewis also described significant United States efforts to confront climate change at the international, federal and state level. Mr. Lewis highlighted the recent Major Economies Meeting in Washington, DC last month. Mr. Lewis also shared with the school a series of activities designed to raise awareness about sustainable development and climate change issues in a non-political science-based way. The nearly 50 students gathered asked insightful questions that reflected an appreciation for the environment and a desire to tackle climate change.
