Ambassador's Speech at the Swedish Club in Helsinki Draws a Full House
Ambassador Marilyn Ware discussed "Why Afghanistan Matters" within a speech she delivered on the transatlantic relationship at Helsinki's venerable Swedish Club on October 31st. The event drew 80 members -- a mix of senior business leaders, lawyers, civil servants, physicians, and scientists who are members of Finland’s Swedish-speaking community. The Swedish Club of Helsinki is a 127 year old gentlemen’s club, which has reciprocal clubs in Stockholm, London, and Paris. This speech is one of a series of Afghanistan outreach events in follow-up to PDAS Volker's September visit.
