Embassy Officer Visits the City of Jyväskylä

Visiting the region for the third time this year, Economic Officer Glenn Lewis spoke to business professionals and students during the “Doing Business with the United States” seminar sponsored by the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences on November 15. Encouraging seminar participants to “dare to succeed”, Mr. Lewis focused his remarks on American business practices and hot markets in the United States including energy and environmental-friendly green technology. Mr. Lewis also spoke about climate change to students at two GLOBE schools – the Viitaniemi School and the Kuokkala School. During his visit to Jyväskylä, Mr. Lewis met with government and business leaders including Mayor of Jyväskylä Markku Andersson and Deputy Mayor Timo Koivisto. Mr. Lewis also attended an evening concert of the Jyväskylä Symphony with members of the Jyväskylä Finnish American Society.
