PAO Davnie Attends Thanksgiving Dinner in Hämeenlinna
PAO William Davnie joined 90 members of the Suomi-Amerikka Yhdistysten Liitto in Hämeenlinna for its traditional Thanksgiving Dinner, and spoke after dinner on the meaning of Thanksgiving for America and Finland. Among the SAYL members present at this 60th anniversary of the Hämeenlinna Chapter was Helvi Flick, pictured with PAO Davnie. Mrs. Flick was present at the Hämeenlinna Chapter’s 1945 Christmas Party, and so represents all 60 years of the Chapter’s activities. Mrs. Flick lived in Washington, DC in the 1970’s, when her husband, a Colonel in the Finnish Armed Forces, was posted to Washington as Military Attaché at the Finnish Embassy there.
