Congressional Delegation Visits Helsinki
Ambassador Marilyn Ware hosted a group of visiting American Congressional Representatives led by Congressman David Dreier (R-California) at her residence on November 27. The group made a stopover in Helsinki before returning to the US after a visit to Kosovo and Afghanistan where they were involved in House Democracy Assistance programs (HAD), a Congressional initiative to help struggling democracies with capacity-building and assistance projects. The Representatives met with Finnish MPs to talk about their programs and work in Kosovo and Afghanistan, and also to hear about similar Finnish projects or ideas throughout the world.
