Ambassador Ware Addresses Junior Chamber International Helsinki
On December 15, Ambassador Ware addressed the members of JCI Helsinki celebrating the Pitkä Lounas, one of the oldest events in Finland. Ambassador Ware commended JCI’s efforts in promoting personal development, leadership issues and networking in the commercial fields and expressed her hope of intensifying ties between JCI and the US Embassy. Speaking on ‘U.S.-Russian Relations and Opportunities for Finland’, Ambassador Ware stated that ‘both the United States and Finland are supporting and encouraging the emergence of a strong, vibrant Russia, integrated into global institutions, and guided by market principles and democratic values.’ She also noted that ‘Russia faces a myriad of choices and at present the United States is concerned that Russia is not making the right ones.’ She concluded her remarks by stating that ‘the United States and Finland can work as a respectful partner with Russia to more closely and beneficially align it with the West.’
