On March 12,  Mr. Greg Thome, head of the Embassy’s political section, briefed members of the Finnish Atlantic Council Youth Network on the upcoming NATO summit in Bucharest. In his remarks, Mr. Thome suggested that Afghanistan would feature high on the summit agenda as more international resources are needed to help the Afghan government as it moves the country toward democracy.

The Youth Network had requested the briefing to prepare for the Young Atlanticist Summit to be held in Bucharest April 2-4 – several young Finnish Atlanticists will be in attendance.
