Art Exhibition at the American Resource Center
The American Resource Center exhibits the art work of Steven Krueger, a traveling painter who presently resides in Helsinki, Finland. Prior to Helsinki, he lived and painted in Guatemala, Washington DC, and Vienna, Austria.
Mostly self-taught, he studied the mechanics of painting through courses offered by the ICS School of Art in Pennsylvania. He had a couple of exhibitions in Vienna, Austria, where he found some immediate local success. He continued exhibiting after moving to Guatemala in 2002 and was represented by two of the most prominent galleries there.
His works hang in private collections throughout the world, from Europe and Asia, to Latin America and the United States. Now living and working in Helsinki, Finland, he continues the creative process with his work.
A fan of Cubism and Abstract Expressionism, capturing the flavor of his surroundings wherever he lives, along with his feel of the moment are the essence and the excitement behind his painting output. When asked if he can visualize beforehand how his painting will turn out, he responds, "Never. Whenever I paint, the outcome is as much of a surprise to me as to anyone who may see one of my paintings in progress."
