American Voices Seminar in Turku
The University of Turku, Fulbright Center, and the U.S. Embassy collaborated to organize the 17th annual American Voices Seminar at the university campus in Turku. The annual seminar brings together administrators, professors, and students in higher education. This year’s program explored the kaleidoscope of North American Culture and discussed American music, today’s art forms, and education in the U.S. among other things.
Ambassador Oreck delivered an inspirational speech, which included a video clip from President Obama's famous speech after the New Hampshire primary in 2008. Ambassador Oreck reminded the audience of 110 people how the power of words can shape one's thinking, and thereby one's future. He encouraged the students to study, hope, and act for change.
