Discover America Seminar, Helsinki
Commercial Service (CS) Helsinki hosted, in cooperation with the Discover America Committee Finland, a highly successful Discover America Seminar for the 19th time in Helsinki, Finland, on October 23, 2008. This seminar is the only major event in Finland specifically promoting the United States as a travel destination. The event consists of presentations and a workshop, and targets the travel trade and media only. In 2008, the seminar was a great success, with almost 100 professional attendees. U.S. Ambassador to Finland delivered the welcoming remarks, and the Consular Department of the U.S. Embassy gave a presentation on ESTA. All guest speakers as well as participants were pleased with the event, and considered it very informative and important for their work.
