Embassy's Consular Section Attends a Customer Service Training Session
On December 19, members of the Embassy's Consular Section attended a customer service training session developed by the Hilton Helsinki Strand Hotel for the Consular staff. Mr. Mika Holmqvist, the Hilton's Front Desk Manager, provided Consular staff with information and advice on how to enhance the overall "customer experience" of visa applicants who travel to the Embassy to obtain their visas to the United States. Tips were provided on how to maintain a friendly, stress-free waiting room environment and strategies for effectively greeting and interacting with visa customers. Mr. Holmqvist, who attended university in the United States, encouraged Consular staff to treat every Consular customer as a valued client, and to continuously seek customer feedback to improve the level and quality of service that is provided to visa applicants.
