Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton Travels to Finland
June 2012
The U.S. Embassy in Helsinki welcomes the visit of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. This visit will accentuate the close friendship and strong partnership between the United States and Finland. The Secretary of State will consult with our Finnish partners on our shared regional and global priorities.
We look forward to a full, robust program that highlights the close cooperation we enjoy with Finland on a wide variety of issues and that emphasizes our partnership in terms of our mutual democratic values and traditions, the goals of peace and prosperity we promote, and the new challenges we must face: economic recovery, gender issues, energy security and climate change.
The Secretary of State, appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate, is the President's chief foreign affairs adviser. The Secretary carries out the President's foreign policies through the State Department and the Foreign Service of the United States.
